The Market This Weekend, Sunday June 25th

It looks like we have another beautiful day in the forecast for Sunday, we look forward to seeing everyone at the market!

We will have National Sharpening at the market this weekend so bring down those dull kitchen knives to get them sharpened. There’s nothing like trying to cut a fresh Farmer’s Market tomato with a dull knife.

For music we will be featuring the talented Molly Pinto Madigan.

Our kid’s craft will be making red, white & blue bracelets & necklaces. We will have corn hole & giant jenga for the whole family to play.

Opening Day! Sunday June 11th!

4th Annual Indoor Thanksgiving Market

Thanksgiving is just around the corner and it’s time to think about what to serve your guests.

We’ll be hosting our 4th annual Indoor Thanksgiving Market on Sunday November 20th, 10-1 in the Swampscott High School Atrium. If you haven’t joined us in the past, it isn’t one to miss! Stock up on fresh local vegetables and goodies to bring to the host or to serve up to your guests.

Long Hill Orchard will be bringing Turkeys for those who preorder with them. Please email them at longhillorchards@gmail.com or call 978-363-2170 to place your order for pickup at the market. Some sizes do sell out.

Mia’s House of Sweets will be selling her wonderful scones and treats and will be taking orders for fresh pies that can be picked up on the day before Thanksgiving at Town Hall from 9-12.

Clark Farm with be bringing apples, winter squash, honey, cranberries, greenhouse tomatoes, kale, leeks and cauliflower.  Grant Family Farm, Salem Spice, The Soup Guy, Ackermann Maple Farm, AllFruit, Arrowhead Farm, Moran’s Pet Food, The Pickle Emporium & Alfalfa Farm will also be joining us. And don’t forget our 4 legged friends and pick up some dog treats from Moran’s pet food. We are still waiting on final confirmation with our other vendors but we will update our event page as soon as we have them so be sure to like the Swampscott Farmers Market on Facebook.

Alfalfa Farm will be there with their terrific Blueberry Wine, a NEW dry blueberry wine as well as a limited amount of 2016 Strawberry Wine, made from the berries picked at Marini Farm in Ipswich this past spring.  It is a semi-sweet wine, with a strong strawberry nose and a pleasantly surprising rose finish. Delicious!  And of course they will have a great supply of their Cranberry Wine, perfect for ALL the holidays. They are also hosting their annual craft fair: “Crafts and Cranberries” on Nov 27 from 1 -5.

In addition to our food vendors, we will be featuring a variety of talented local crafters so you can peruse their handmade goods and get a start on your holiday shopping. Crafters joining us at the market are…

The Swampscott Historical Society, Donna Bagarella jewelry, Dave Matthews Pottery, Bills Beads, Barefoot Books, Sew Envious Crafts, Salem Soapworks, Kat’s Latest Addiction as well as Town of Swampscott selling long sleeve t-shirts. Salem Soapworks will have lots of holiday baskets in an assorted price range ($10.00 – $25.00), in addition to their usual products.

Halloween Costume Parade! 10-30-16

The season is officially coming to a close, thank you for another great season! For our last regular market this weekend, we will be having our annual Halloween Costume Parade.

Give the kids another reason to use their costume! Join us at the market and then head over to the The Love of Swampscott’s Harvest Fest.

The parade will start at 10:30, the kids will follow the parade around the market, perfect for young kids! All participants will receive a goody bag.

Halloween Kid’s Craft This Weekend! 10-23-16

There are only 2 regular markets left of the season, make sure you get out there to stock up on goods from all of your favorite vendors.

Stop by Mia’s House of Sweets to get your French Breakfast Puff fix. She’ll also have Pumpkin Oat Scones and Hermits – an old time favorite!

Arrowhead Farm will have Bacon, Ham Steaks, Bacon, Sausage, and more Bacon. Heirloom Apple Jam and plenty of Greens.

It was great to see all of the kids at the market last weekend decorating their pumpkins. This week we’ll be doing another Halloween-themed craft making Tootsie Roll Pop Spiders!

Mark your calendars for next week (October 30th), we’ll be closing out the season with a great market and a Halloween Costume Parade for the kids. Follow our website & facebook page for more details.

We will also have more details about our annual Indoor Thanksgiving Market coming soon! As always we’ll have it the Sunday before Thanksgiving so you can stock up on fall produce, farm fresh turkeys and fresh baked pies.

Pumpkin Decorating at the Farmer’s Market 10-14

Due to the rain last weekend, we decided to reschedule our Pumpkin Decorating craft event to this weekend. We will have free pumpkins available to the first 40 kids. Feel free to bring your own pumpkins to decorate as well!

The weather is looking to be gorgeous on Sunday, we’ll have some live music as well as a vibrant array of produce & goods from our vendors. Grant Family Farm will have fresh chicken available this weekend so be sure to stop by & pick up something fresh for dinner.
