You may have heard the news already but we are excited to announce that we will be moving the market to a new central location on the Town Hall lawn. We think this will be a good move to make the market more accessible by foot and remind people to stop by the market as they drive by. We’re busy planning for a great 2017 season and we can’t wait to share our exciting list of vendors with you!

The Farmer’s Market season is in full swing and you’ll find all of the amazing goodies from the farm without fighting the crowds. Pumpkins, squash, apples, fresh baked goods, apple cider donuts, hot coffee.
This weekend (10/2/16) we’ll be doing an apple print craft for the kids along with serving warm apple cider.
Arrowhead Farm with be returning to the market starting this weekend offering a great variety of high quality meats. They will have plenty of heritage breed jersey cattle beef, heritage yorkshire pork, along with bacon and sage & sea salt sausages. Everything is raised outdoors with no feed additives, no nitrates, phosphates or other preservatives.
Mia’s House of Sweet’s will be returning this week as well featuring fall favorites like Banana Nut Bread, Ginger Pumpkin Muffins and new Apple Pie French Breakfast puffs.
Stock up on poultry and fresh eggs at Grant Family Farm for weekday meals and Sunday football!

It looks like we will have a nice day for the market this weekend! Here are some highlights from our vendors:
Arrowhead Farm will have their first peaches of the season and their no-spray, organic sugar peach jam. They will also have a nice thick-cut Yorkshire Heritage Breed Ham steaks for the grill as well as bacon and sausages.
Grant Family Farm will have their chicken, all types of parts available: breast, thighs, drums, wings, liver, heart, bones for broth & whole birds.
Swiss Baker will have burger buns. The same great pretzel roll flavor but large enough for backyard burgers! Six for $6.
The Soup Guy will be featuring a summer chilled Gazpacho soup, made fresh three times a week. Stop by for a sample!
Long Hill Orchards will have butter and sugar corn, summer squash, zucchini, herbs, beans and more.
Steven Glick will be our musician this week.

We’ll be hosting our 3rd annual Indoor Thanksgiving Market on Sunday November 22nd, 10-1 in the Swampscott High School Atrium. If you haven’t joined us in the past, it isn’t one to miss! Stock up on fresh local vegetables and goodies to bring to the host or to serve up to your guests.
Long Hill Orchard will be bringing Turkeys for those who preorder with them. Please visit their website and contact them directly to place your order for pickup at the market.
Clark Farm with be bringing apples, winter squash, honey, cranberries, greenhouse tomatoes, kale, leeks and cauliflower. Beyond Seasons Farm, Grant Family Farm, Salem Spice, The Soup Guy & Alfalfa Farm will also be joining us. We are still waiting on final confirmation with our other vendors but we will update our event page as soon as we have them so be sure to join the event on Facebook.

This weekend the town nurse will be giving out flu shots at the market this weekend, just bring your health care card with you.
We are still having our October Halloweenfest so there will be a pumpkin craft for the kids this weekend. If you didn’t catch it last week, make sure you mark your calendar for the kid’s Halloween Costume Parade on Sunday October 25th.

We had feedback from many people that they tend to forget about the market on Sundays so we’ve started a weekly email that will be sent out every Saturday morning to remind you to stop by the market on Sunday. The email will let you know what vendors will be attending, what they might be bringing and if there are any special events that week. We promise not to spam you and you can unsubscribe at any time!

Our Thanksgiving market was such a huge hit last year, we decided to bring it back and make it bigger and better than ever! If you didn’t get a chance to join us last year, now is the time to take part and stock up on local turkeys, vegetables and baked goods to make your Thanksgiving table stand out. As if that wasn’t enough, we’ve invited a number of talented local crafters to come so you can get your holiday shopping started early. As we’re experiencing already, November isn’t known for having the nicest weather forecast so it will be taking place in the warm & dry Swampscott High School Atrium. See below for more information on how you can reserve your turkey and baked goods for pick-up at the market.

Our farmers will be bringing a number of hearty fall vegetables and meat, last year I picked up a few beautiful delicata squash and roasted them up with bacon, brussel sprouts and topped it with a maple glaze. Get creative and add something different to the roundup this year, what better way to do that than with some fresh local produce? Talk to the farmer’s and vendors, if you are unsure of how to cook something, most likely they’ll have a variety of suggestions on how to best serve it up. David from Salem Spice is another great resource, show him the vegetables or meat that you picked up and he’ll tell you what seasonings or spices will complement it best.

Long Hill Orchards will be taking preorders for Turkeys from now until the market. If you would like to pick up a turkey at the market, please visit their website and use the Contact Us form to place your order. Please be sure to specify that your order is for pickup at the Swampscott Farmer’s Market on 11/23. They are also taking orders for baked goods and bulk produce which can be picked up at the market as well. Click on the files below for more information and then place your order online. Again – please specify you will be picking up at the Swampscott Thanksgiving Market.
Eventide Confections will also be taking orders for her mouth-watering Thanksgiving desserts at the market, simply visit Meg and place your order at the market and the pie will be available for pickup later that week.
