July 3rd at the Farmer’s Market!

July3rdFlagVeggies

Everyone is gearing up for a big Holiday weekend, don’t forget that the market is still open and our vendors are bringing special items that will be great for the parties you’ll be attending or hosting! See below for some highlights.

Mia’s House of Sweets will be bringing large bags of Oatmeal Scotchies & Chocolate Chip cookies which would be a great homemade addition to any Fourth of July party or BBQ.

Stock up on frozen soups from The Soup Guy so you don’t have to cook during the fun days of the long weekend. They will be offering their soups and award-winning Bootleg Chili packaged in quarts and half gallons for large parties. They are packaged in re-heatable sealed bags which can go directly into boiling water, making prep work a breeze. The chili is a great addition to burgers & hot dogs or try heating up with some cheese for a spicy queso dip! Their products are all vegan and gluten free so everyone at the table can enjoy.

Arrowhead Farm will have their first raspberries of the year. For folks looking for something to grill they will have pork loin chops, rib racks and sea salt & sage sausages. You should also try their special Heirloom Tomato Jam for basting meats or enjoying on hot dogs & burgers.

For the kid’s craft we’ll have pipe cleaners & beads so they can make their own rings.

Music will be by the Old Crow Band.

Our Civic Booth will be Northeast Arc.

We’ll see you there!!

Produce

WELL, it looks like we might have another wet Sunday this week but we’re New Englanders! It just means it may not be a beach day but it will certainly be a Farmer’s Market day. Grab the umbrella and come down for some fun events and a great selection of goods from the vendors.

This week we will be having Pot-A-Plant or Herb event for the kids so bring them down and let them have some fun on a rainy day.

Rich Adams will be playing some music for us and Hope for Creativity will be our civic booth for the week, they are a non-profit providing homeless kids with creative outlets.

In case you missed them the past few weeks, Piper Ranch Meat is back to join us for the rest of the season so make sure you stop by and stock up your freezer with quality grass fed meats.

We hope to see you there on Sunday.  You’ll be wishing you took advantage of these beautiful market days when we’re deep in the middle of winter!

{Vendor Spotlight} New Meat Vendor

PiperRanch1

We are excited to introduce you to our new meat vendor!  Unfortunately our fantastic meat vendor John Crow Farm has run into some staffing issues for the remainder of the season so they had to bow out of the market for the rest of the year.  We know how important it is for you to have a source for local, grass fed meats so we searched high and low for a new vendor to replace them.

We were lucky enough to find Piper Ranch farm in Maine and they have agreed to join us every other week for the rest of the season!!  We hope that you’ll come out to support them and show them that its worth the trip they make down from Maine!

PiperRanch2

In case you missed them the first time, they will be at the market this weekend (September 29th).  They have an amazing selection of salami’s, beef cuts, pork, smoked meats and much more!

Come by the market this weekend to stock up on some meat for the week and of course all of the amazing fresh produce the farmers will have this weekend!
