In case you didn’t know, August 1st was only the mid-point of summer, so although stores are stocking up on back-to-school gear and September is around the corner, we still have so much of the summer left! Take advantage of it while it lasts and stop by the market this weekend to pick up some of these amazing tomatoes from Clark Farm, fresh eggs from Grant Family Farm or some dry aged steak from River Rock. In addition to their normal assortment, this weekend Long Hill Orchard will have cubanelle and bell peppers, 3 varieties of eggplant, summer onions and romano beans.

At the market this weekend… Swiss Bakers, Made with Love, Salem Spice, Alfalfa Farm Winery, Cannoli Corner, Grant Family Farm, Super Soccer, All Fruit, Powerhouse Juice, Winchester School of Chinese, Clark Farm, Moran’s Pet Food, Lanni Orchard, Mia’s House of Sweets, Long Hill Orchard, Pickle Emporium, River Rock Farm, The Soup Guy & Golden Cod.

For music this week we will be featuring the talented Molly Pinto Madigan.

We will also have a kids craft available.

We’ll see you there!

CSA Available at the Market This Year!

CSA is now available at the Swampscott Farmers Market. What is a CSA? It is Community Supported Agriculture and a very popular way for consumers to buy local, seasonal food directly from a farmer. Here are the basics: a farmer offers a certain number of “shares” to the public. Typically the share consists of a box of vegetables, but other farm products may be included. Interested consumers purchase a share (aka a “membership” or a “subscription”) and in return receive a box (bag, basket) of seasonal produce each week throughout the farming season.

Several of our Swampscott Farmers Market farm vendors are now offering this great opportunity and to make it easy for our public you can pick up your CSA “box” right from the Swampscott Farmers Market each week on Sunday.

We currently have two farms offering CSA pickup at the Swampscott Farmers Market each Sunday and expect more to be available.

Grant Family Harvest share program which is a weekly subscription to everything they produce throughout the summer. Each week members will receive a share of the freshest vegetables, cut flowers, and eggs we are harvesting that week. Full shares feed a family of four (or two vegetarians) and includes a bunch of flowers and a full dozen of our eggs. Half shares feed a family of two or three including a bunch of flowers and a half dozen of eggs. Each week we will feature a product from a fellow local farm like fruit and other farm goodies.
